One of the exciting new features Patch 3.02 will be introducing is the Mentor system! This system will allow both new and experienced players to benefit by helping each other. Players who choose to participate in this mutually beneficial system will be automatically matched up with another player of the same faction and class.
~ Mentors and Apprentices ~
Upon reaching level 30 players can choose to become a Mentor or Apprentice by opening the Social menu. There an Apprentice can see any notes their Mentor has left for them, and can also see any other Apprentices that their Mentor has. A Mentor can also monitor and leave notes for their Apprentices, as well as see how many bonus items they are earning from their Apprentices.

A Mentor’s role is to supply their Apprentices with experienced information on how to become better at their class as well as provide basic information about how to find their way around Sarnaut. In exchange for their information and assistance, the Mentor will receive bonus amounts of gold, Special Holiday Coins, and Marks of Diligence based on the amounts that their Apprentices loot of those items.

The percentage of gold and items the Mentor receives is determined by the Apprentice’s level and how long that Apprentice has been with their Mentor. The more your Apprentices advance, the more bonus items you’ll receive! These items aren’t taken from your Apprentice but are awarded purely as bonus items.

A Mentor can take multiple Apprentices under their wing and receive additional rewards for each Apprentice. However, Mentors shouldn’t take on more Apprentices than they can handle just for the sake of free prizes! An Apprentice can choose to be matched with a different Mentor at any time if they aren’t satisfied with the support and advice their Mentor is providing. This is why it’s important for Mentors to be helpful to their Apprentices, as it is the Mentor’s best interest that their Apprentices are satisfied with their advice! A helpful Mentor is a successful Mentor.

Please note that only characters created after Patch 3.02 will be eligible to become Apprentices.
We hope you enjoyed this preview of the Mentor and Apprentice system and that you will find it to be helpful on your adventures in Sarnaut! Look forward to more previews on the new features coming in Patch 3.02!
