Ever find yourself looking for just one more person to fill a spot in Oreshek, or have you had trouble finding someone to tank Laguna Boil? Well look no further! A band of mercenaries has arrived and they’re eager to lend you their combat expertise in exchange for some gold.
Hiring a Mercenary
First you’ll need to meet the mercenaries. Speak with any Novograd or Nezebgrad guide and they’ll direct you to the camps the mercenaries have set up at the towns’ ports. There you can speak with the Mercenary Leaders who will gladly provide you with one free contract so you can see first-hand how their soldiers perform in combat.
Upon reaching level 8, all players will automatically learn the Mercenary Contract ability. With your free contract in hand, simply join any dungeon or Astral allod and use this ability to summon the Mercenary Leader.
Mercenary Leaders will gladly provide a history of each of the mercenaries in their group, as well as the bonuses that mercenary provides. They will also allow you to hire a mercenary, or return one from Purgatory. While your first mercenary contract is free, all future runs will require payment, and the cost depends on your level. At level 10, hiring a mercenary is as cheap as 7 Silver 12 Copper per mercenary. However at level 51, you will be paying around 75 gold each.
Once a mercenary has been hired, they will remain in your group for 2 hours, or until the dungeon or allod has been completed. Mercenaries can be hired by multiple players in the same party, however the party is still limited to 6 members, and each mercenary will only follow the commands of the player that hired them.

There are two abilities to command your mercenaries: Attack and Retreat. If you are being attacked, your mercenaries will automatically jump in to assist you. However if you would like them to initiate the fight to build threat, you can send them in using the Attack command. You can also have them stop attacking by using the Retreat command.
The Protector

Rowdy Brow serves as the mercenaries’ tank. A formidable orc with a strong arm and shield, he’ll gladly rush in and take all the hits for you and your party. It’s recommended to let him initiate combat before you dive into the fray.
The Physician

Matron Lighthand is the mercenaries’ healer. She’ll work her hardest to keep your party alive and well. If your party is lacking a healer, you wouldn’t go wrong with picking up Matron Lighthand!
The Fighter

Stormer the Fierce is a rough and tough orc warrior. Eager to rush in and get her hands dirty, she’ll gladly fill the melee spot in your party. She also provides the Aura of Ferocity, granting a 15% damage increase to your party’s physical damage.
The Shooter

Casper Flinty is deadly with a bow. As a successful ranger, he’ll be attacking from afar with his bow while providing your party with an Aura of Regeneration, restoring 12 energy and 1% mana to the party every 8 seconds.
The Witch

Lisa de Vevre is content with hexing her foes at a distance. A powerful witch, she will provide your group with Fortitude, increasing the party’s maximum health, mana, and energy by 30%.
The Wizard

Michael Grammar is the mercenaries’ go-to caster. Casting powerful magical spells from ranged distance, he will destroy your enemies. He’ll also provide the group with an Aura of Potency, increasing the party’s spell damage by 15%.
