Goblinball

Goblinball is a tranditional Orcish sport that is celebrated and played by both the League and Empire. It’s a rough activity, with very few rules and regulations. This patch however, Goblinball is getting a bit more organized and accessible.

Currently, only players who have leveled up to Coba Plateau are able to access Marauder Isle where Goblinball matches are held, but that will change in Patch 3.05!

Goal

Players will be able to queue for Goblinball matches from anywhere by using the Skirmish menu that can be accessed with Ctrl+M. Each match consists of 8 players split into two teams: 4 Red Team players and 4 Blue Team players. The objective is to get the goblinball into the opposing team’s goal. It may sound easy but it will require coordination and skill to beat your opponents!

After a short preparation period, the game will begin. Players will have 4 abilities they can use during the game, and an additional ability if they are playing defensively at their team’s goal.

Goblinball is now 4v4

Power Kick – This ability will kick the goblinball with a lot of force to a location of your choice.

Charge – You will gain a speed increase to help you quickly get where you’re needed. Once your speed boost ends though, you will move slower than normal for a short time.

Shin Kick – In a sport created by orcs, there are no rules about kicking other players! This ability can be used to kick players on the other team, slowing their speed for a few seconds.

Solid Defenses – A defensive ability that will temporarily block the ball.

Return Ball – A goalkeeper ability that will allow the goalie to return the ball to the field from the goal area where the ball cannot normally be kicked.

Abilities that involve direct interaction with the goblinball, like Power Kick, will require that you be the active player. The player who reaches the goblinball first will be the active player and can easily be identified by a large orb over their head.

Once the ball has been kicked it’s up for grabs, so be sure not to kick it to the opposing team!

Active players can kick the ball.

Each game lasts 10 minutes. In the event of a tie, 2 minutes will be added until a team scores a goal. Goblinball can be played up to 5 times a day.
