Guild Spotlight: Zombies Inc!

Sunday, July 17 2011 - 9:50 AM
by piopico

This week’s guild spotlight is with the guild Zombies Inc! We have the guild leader, Paio, here to tell us more about the guild.

Guild: Zombies Inc.
Server: Tensess
Faction: League

Can you give us a little history about Zombies Inc?
Sure, Zombies Inc was founded one day after I had spent some time in purgatory, and when I revived, I felt a sudden craving to chew on other player’s heads. Shortly after, Zombies Inc was born! (Or something like that anyways.)

Truth be told, we’ve been around for a while…since around November of 2010 I think. We’ve had our ups and downs, even a problem with a founding officer going crazy and trying to destroy the guild (we suspect she ran out of brains), but you know zombies, we just keep coming back…

What are the people of Zombies Inc like?
My fellow Zombies are some of the best people I’ve ever had the privilege of being in a guild with. We have all types: the more serious ones, the nice and helpful ones, the avid pvp/duelers, the casual player, the build tester, the wacky crazy guys, and even married couples! Zombies come from all age ranges, levels, and nationalities! We’re a truly open, international guild. Everyone loves zombies, and
hey, let’s face it, Zombies aren’t terribly picky. ^_^

Generally though, you’ll find we’re very helpful, especially towards helping out our own.

What are the goals of Zombies Inc?
In a word? Fun. We’re here to enjoy the great game that is Allods. We enjoy leveling up, helping out fellow Zombies, chewing on things, experimenting with new builds, terrorizing imps, running excursions into the astral, chewing on things, you name it. We’re a lot more casual than some other guilds out there in that we’re not aggressively trying to take over areas, and we’re perfectly happy working with other guilds; but that doesn’t mean we don’t care about the more hardcore stuff. We just enjoy ourselves, however we do it. After all, there’s no point in playing a game that you don’t enjoy, right?

Are you a casual PvE guild? Hardcore PvP? Raiding?
As mentioned above, we do a little bit of everything. A majority of it is casual PvE to be honest, but if you want to go on a massive PvP binge? You’ll probably find a zombie who’s happy to go with you. Maybe even a few. We’re not so straight-laced to limit ourselves to one style of play; we’re zombies.

How would one go about joining Zombies Inc? Are you accepting applications? What are your recruiting criteria?
Recently we’ve been trying to focus a little more towards end-game content and astral runs for our zombies, so we’ve been only recruiting people lvl 20 and over, although we’ve been known to make exceptions for people that have brains…we like brains… Hmmm…BbbbrRRRaaaIIINNNNNnnsss! Ah, sorry, I got a bit distracted there. What were we talking about?

Ah yes, joining is fairly simple, just ask a Zombie if any senior officer is online, they should be able to put you in touch with one who can infect err… INVITE you, to the guild. New members we usually put
on “trial” status for a while, or until they sign up on the guild site, depending on the situation. Signing up at the guild site isn’t required, but we strongly recommend it, as there’s a lot of helpful info there for all zombies, as well as it’s a good way for us to communicate about guild events and such.

What do you see in Zombies Inc’s future in Allods Online?
The Zombie apocalypse is coming, it is inevitable. Everyone knows eventually the zombies always win… it’s only a matter of time. ^_^

Guild Spotlight: Nightmares!

Sunday, July 10 2011 - 9:50 AM
by piopico

This week’s guild spotlight is with the guild Nightmares! We have the guild leader, Talez, here to tell us more about the guild.

Guild: Nightmares
Server: Nezeb
Faction: League

Can you give us a little history about Nightmares?
Nightmares, it was a very small slow starting guild. Then expanded in to a fast lvling good sized guild after not to long. It originally just gonna be a guild fer friends to chat and stay in touch, but soon surpassed that and turned into a decently big guild that will be going into the Astral Frontier before you know it.

What are the people of Nightmares like?
Fun, very humorous people that love to just crack up and have a good time while they enjoy there gameplay.

What are the goals of Nightmares? Are you a casual PvE guild? Hardcore PvP? Raiding?
We are a little of both. We will be a good PvP guild but at the moment were just gonna focus on helping eachother level up and raid every now and again for fun.

How would one go about joining Nightmares? Are you accepting applications? What are your recruiting criteria?
Just ask in zone or ask a officer for a invite. No requirements or anything like that. Just whisper sofakinglazy, Sexykharell or Talez for invites. We are the most active people that can invite people.

What do you see in Nightmares’s future in Allods Online?
Massive raiding and Astral Frontier. And other than that just having fun and helping one another out.

If you’re part of a guild and you would like to have your guild in the spotlight, please have your guild leader email us with information about your guild at allods_community@gala-net.com!

Guild Spotlight: Infinite Fantasy!

Sunday, July 03 2011 - 9:50 AM
by piopico

This week’s guild spotlight is with the guild Infinite Fantasy! We have the guild leader, Apoclypse, here to tell us more about the guild.

Guild: Infinite Fantasy
Server: Tensess
Faction: League

Can you give us a little history about Infinite Fantasy?
Infinite Fantasy started after previous attempts to join other guilds. Other guilds never gave me what i was really looking for so i went ahead and started a guild with new people. The guild eventually grew in numbers and even faster then the numbers, was the prestige. soon enough we had lots People, lots of prestige, and some of the most un-believably nice people in the world. We had some tough times but now our guild is around lvl10 and has over 100people. So im very pleased with the success.

What are the people of Infinite Fantasy like?
Most are very kind and some are out there. Were very diverse and have people from all over. we have lots of support for one another. we mainly play in the afternoon, however im on most all day. However were just a guild that like pursuing happiness and peace. People who join normally gain a reputation quick, no one goes un-spoken too. For that reason many have titles like Mentor and Guild Elder.

What are the goals of Infinite Fantasy? Are you a casual PvE guild? Hardcore PvP? Raiding?
Our goals are simply to have fun. We are an all around guild however we specialize in support. One personal goal for the guild is to reach a high guild level and high level people, but never to high that we wont except noobies.

How would one go about joining Infinite Fantasy? Are you accepting applications? What are your recruiting criteria?
You can simply Pm me or one of my officers about joining. The minimum level is 10 we do accept lower under certain circumstances. The only thing we require to join is to e active and to follow the rules(not that we have any or much). However being active is very important, i do kick people who haven’t been on in awhile(1or2Months). This will Insure Infinite Fantasy is always active and always reaching it maximum capacity.

What do you see in Infinite Fantasy’s future in Allods Online?
I see us having a bright future. I see us soon getting more level 40+ people for raids astral, PvP, Support 4 noobies, and more…Cause ima be honest we need more more higher level people. I can also see us being mentioned more often like the big Guilds. Our Future is Infinite this guild will always be here accepting new people and helping others…

My Motto is: Prestige, Level ,and be Happy…

If you’re part of a guild and you would like to have your guild in the spotlight, please have your guild leader email us with information about your guild at allods_community@gala-net.com!

Hero of the Month – Rotcjames!

Monday, June 27 2011 - 12:58 PM
by admin

Rotcjames has been chosen to be the June Hero of the Month!

He was selected for this honor because of his willingness to patiently help new players with questions they have about the game, assist players trying to figure out where they went wrong on a quest, clear some of the technical issues that a few of our players have encountered, and consistently adding to the scout forums. He is a very active member of the community and his support is appreciated.

Congratulations and welcome to the club!

Character name: Rotcjames
Server: Tensess
Faction: Empire
Archetype: Scout

When did you start playing Allods Online and what motivated you to get more involved with the community here?

I started playing Allods just over a year ago in the first days of Open Beta at the constant urging of my friend. At first I didn’t like it and almost quit, but fortunately I stayed. Up until last December, I never touched the forums. Every MMO I had played had terrible communities. However, over Winter Break I couldn’t get on Allods for a couple weeks so I decided to check out the forums, and found out that this is an amazing community of which I am proud to be a member. From there it snowballed, and I love being able to debate aspects of Allods and help new or returning players.

What advice would you give players to help them maximize their experience with Allods Online?

If things get tough, don’t quit. Endgame content here is simply amazing and is worth the haul to 45. Also, jump around between classes and see what you like to maximize your enjoyment. The same goes with factions, League and Empire are like night and day and I have seen many players unfortunately quit because they didn’t like one faction.

Finally, if you make any enemies, which you likely will, don’t let them ruin the game for you. Trust me, there are plenty of people who don’t like me, but I ignore them and it works fine. If a small number of people dislike you, take it in stride and be the better person.

What is your favorite experience with Allods Online so far?

So far is a big part. I plan on having many more great experiences, but as of now it would have to be raiding Novograd.

Back before the 47 patch, Melting Isle was very slow one night, so a couple of us from Doom, Reborn and Chaos went through Asee-Teph and Avilon into Lightwood. We got through pretty easily, but rather than going into town I disappeared into Kania. I got all the way to the june ruins to Frozen Frontier from Siveria, but I guess I was too nice to the Leagues, because after waving and grinning at a few a healer and paladin came to kill me. But since two came I took it as a compliment, haha.

What made you decide to play your chosen Faction and Class?

My friend actually was the big factor. He told me to make a scout, so I did. I chose Tensess Empire because thats where he was, and at the time we were the same level and so we quested together for a while. Eventually he moved on and has only recently came back, but I kept going.

Although I didn’t choose to play a scout, if I could start over, I would choose my scout every time.

Are there any players that you would like to shout out to who have helped make your time in Allods Online an awesome experience?

Definitely, everyone in Doom is great: Redwlf, Gruman, Mrjackal, Dolce, Hellgear, Arcaneangelz, Oruga, Godfromhell, theres just too many to list here.

Biggest of all though, is to Ainakorro, without whom I woluldn’t be here.

Not to forget Gwynell for welcoming my paladin alt into Pheonix and letting me get back into the Nezeb League scene.

And last but not least, all those haters. You know who you are. Thanks for giving the Allods experience some variety. ;)

Guild Spotlight: Wolfenhagon!

Sunday, June 26 2011 - 9:50 AM
by piopico

This week’s guild spotlight is with the guild Wolfenhagon! We have the guild leader, Valkrus, here to tell us more about the guild.

Guild: Wolfenhagon
Server: Tensess
Faction: League

Can you give us a little history about Wolfenhagon?
Wolfenhagon kinda of had a dark background to it. Evaris and I were the main senior officers of the guild and were well-respected. The guild was very much neglected and the leader, I don’t want to point fingers, was very greedy. His so called donations the members paid didn’t seem to level us we were staying at the same level. The members finally started to leave and it fell apart. That’s when Evaris and I stepped in. We soon resurrected the guild in our image, active, friendly, helpful, and fun!

What are the people of Wolfenhagon like?
The members of our guild are very friendly, helpful, and always willing to aid a fellow Wolfenhagon. Now that the guild has started back up players are starting to talk, interact, and help eachother. We are also gaining a ton of new members each day. We hope Wolfenhagon to be an active, social, and all-around joyful guild.

What are the goals of Wolfenhagon? Are you a casual PvE guild? Hardcore PvP? Raiding?
Wolfenhagon has very big goals ahead. We are currently PvE based, but have big plans for PvP since a lot of our members are entering or already are in the holy land. Raiding is also a thing we look forward to in our future. Our main goal at the moment is to get our guild level up and improve our players.

How would one go about joining Wolfenhagon? Are you accepting applications? What are your recruiting criteria?
Wolfenhagon is currently looking for members above the level of 15. We plan to raise the minimum level of recruitment. For now we want our players to be friendly, loyal, honest, and other things that a good member should have.

What do you see in Wolfenhagon’s future in Allods Online?
We see Wolfenhagon dominating the big, strong guilds, not to be a threat or anything but it is possible for them to confront us in the future. We also see us being a extremely well-known guild that hosts big realm-wide events. Speaking of events, I would also like to talk a bit about our upcoming event the Wolfenhagon Festival. We hope a lot of players all over Tensess will attend this event. At the festival bring your items to trade, buy, and sell. There will be player-held auctions, shows/plays, mount races, player-ran mini games, and much more! It will also finish off with a huge firecracker show. Date, time, and area will be released on forums. Go Wolfenhagon!

Guild Spotlight: Epic!

Sunday, June 19 2011 - 9:50 AM
by piopico

This week’s guild spotlight is with the guild Epic! We have the guild leader, Kinjuna, here to tell us more about the guild.

Guild: Epic
Server: Tensess
Faction: Empire

Can you give us a little history about Epic?
Well, Epic was founded by several people, a couple left as the guild started out. But some stayed, along with myself. I originally founded the guild on a Pally named Juniol, but I didn’t really like it
so I made a Summoner, Sunima, but I completely destroyed the build. Then, I made another summoner named Kinjuna, who is now lvl17, and just killed a lvl18 Pally, so I like it. Well, the officers who left, said the guild was going in a bad direction, them, 5 members joined. The next thing I know, they each have 5000 prestige or more. And are lvl is 5/6 and we’re actually new.

What are the people of Epic like?
The people in Epic are amazing, when I was in IMD, one of them helped me with any quest I needed help on, and another helped on demonologist. And, I see the low lvls getting helped out by the high lvls, and I just love it. They also help get money for the guild, and do lots of guild quest, and every time I get on, I get a ton of people saying, Hey Leader, Yo Kinjuna, and Hello Kinjuna the Epic. :P Only from one person I get that last greeting, but I still love it.

What are the goals of Epic? Are you a casual PvE guild? Hardcore PvP? Raiding?
Well currently, we are gaining help from tons of guilds like Doom, Chaos, Rebellion, and more, and plan on a major invasion on the League. This might be a big give away, but when will we reach your Capitol, when will we Raid? So, saying this helps the league in the least. Also, alot of our members are always battling each other in the Arena and fighting the league in the holy lands.

How would one go about joining Epic? Are you accepting applications? What are your recruiting criteria?
Well, first you should talk to someone in Epic, they will tell a senior officer that you want to join, and we will invite you. There are 2 requirements, currently you have to be lvl20+ to join, and you have to be nice to other players. If you show any harsh acts to someone in the guild, you will be ranked down, if you reach the last rank, and do something bad, you get kicked. When we get 150 members, we will raise the level cap higher, so all those lvl20- Better lvl up, even though it’ll still be a while.

What do you see in Epic’s future in Allods Online?
I see 1 of 2 possibilities

1. Taking over the league while letting fellow imperial guilds into our allods as long as they do not take it over or something like that, and basically taking over the holy lands and League, but only with the help of our allianced guilds!

2. Just becoming a regular guild and being nice and friendly.
Alot of our guild likes to have a nice mix of the two, and so do I. =D

If you’re part of a guild and you would like to have your guild in the spotlight, please have your guild leader email us with information about your guild at allods_community@gala-net.com!

Guild Spotlight: Esperanza!

Sunday, June 12 2011 - 9:50 AM
by piopico

This week’s guild spotlight is with the guild Esperanza! We have the guild leader, Miriamel, here to tell us more about the guild.

Guild: Esperanza
Server: Nezeb
Faction: League

Can you give us a little history about Esperanza?
Esperanza was initially formed as an end-game guild on March 15th by Miriamel. However, since she was a Senior Officer and briefly Acting Guild Leader in another guild at the time, she wanted to wrap up her affairs an help the guild stabilize before leaving to start Esperanza.

Esperanza was re-founded as a social leveling guild on April 8th by both Miriamel and Kialash, based on the philosophy that the only way to be successful as a guild was through a strong family of members.
We felt that too many guilds focused on pulling in high level players and raking in items and wealth, but failed to see the big picture of online games and the social element that games like Allods Online bring. With Esperanza, we wanted to take a different approach. We created Esperanza with the vision to make an active, friendly, and enjoyable guild which focuses on goals of the people who are a part of the guild, and that has been our main focus ever since.

We chose the name Esperanza, which means “hope” in Spanish, because we felt it embodied what we want in a guild — the hope to become better than what we were before as both individuals and as a guild at large.

What are the people of Esperanza like?
The people who are in Esperanza are the foundation of our guild; everything else is just smoke and mirrors. We have a very fun, diverse group of people, each of us bringing something unique to the guild. Most of us have characters whose levels range from around level 15 up to level 45, and our ages run along that same range as well.

The guild can be quiet sometimes, with people focusing on questing or instances, but we feel that the guild is overall a very warm and friendly place to be. We’re always here for one another when we need
each other, like any other family.

What are the goals of Esperanza? Are you a casual PvE guild? Hardcore PvP? Raiding?
Our goal right now is to constantly make ourselves better. We achieve this goal every day doing by the little things, whether it’s helping a guild member with a quest, raising the guild level cap, or just by
bonding together as a guild doing some silly event like racing from Novograd to Frozen Frontier on foot or forming a full raid to kill off Rabid Squirrel for a guild screenshot.

Esperanza is a social leveling guild at the moment. However, because our vision is to create a guild that supports everyone’s goals, we’re planning on becoming more end-game oriented as we progress. We
already have partnerships with both Sinister Reapers and Valkyrie Profile, two other great guilds on the server, and we’re pulling our resources together to help one another to achieve end-game quests.

How would one go about joining Esperanza? Are you accepting applications? What are your recruiting criteria?
We are always looking for people who are willing to be a dedicated member of our community. Our criteria is rather straightforward: we want people who can at least log in twice a week (preferably more),
who are nice, social, amiable people, and can follow our guild rules. Our guild rules are pretty simple too — we basically want all our members to follow the in-game rules for Allods Online and to be nice people in-chat and in the community at-large.

The minimum level required to join Esperanza is level 12 at the moment, and we have been raising it steadily as we grow. We chose level 12 for now because we typically find that people under that level aren’t quite sure if they want to continue with the game in the long-term, and we want people who can be dedicated to our community. However, if you show the drive and determination to be a part of the group but you aren’t quite level 12, we can always figure something out.

People who are interested in joining can either apply to join on our website or can be interviewed in game by a Senior Officer. It is a very informal process; we basically talk to people to make sure they’ll be a good fit for Esperanza and that Esperanza is the right type of guild for them

What do you see in Esperanza’s future in Allods Online?
We strongly believe that Esperanza has a bright future, or we wouldn’t be here. As we grow larger and get more people who are higher levels, our priorities are going to shift from leveling to end-game, and the minimum level it takes to join will continue to rise. As a community, we’ll begin to get closer and more familiar with each other as turnover decreases, and more of us will feel like Esperanza is like a
second home.

The biggest challenge that we face in the future is the same as any other guild. When we grow as a guild, we change as a guild, and sometimes it will be tempting to look back in the past instead of
looking forward to the future. Not everyone who is in the guild now will join us in the future, whether they leave the guild or the game entirely, and it will be our job to make sure that we’re always
progressing and always becoming better and always making more out of ourselves.

If you’re part of a guild and you would like to have your guild in the spotlight, please have your guild leader email us with information about your guild at allods_community@gala-net.com!

Guild Spotlight: GaurdianAngles!

Sunday, June 05 2011 - 9:50 AM
by piopico

This week’s guild spotlight is with the guild GaurdianAngles! We have the guild leader, Samsonjr, here to tell us more about the guild.

Guild: GaurdianAngles
Server: Tensess
Faction: League

Can you give us a little history about GaurdianAngles?
Our guild was suppose to start off as a big bang but after my friend quit its only been me and my guild. Of course i had other friends but they already had a guild that they were already loyal to. So i had no
one to branch off of. This is why i have no guildies still. The name GaurdianAngles came from a song that means you will protect the weak. The reason for Guardian spelled Gaurdian is because GuardianAngles was taken.

What are the goals of GaurdianAngles?
The goal is to get bigger, lvl, give out Regilias, have fun, and chat those are the primary goals and as any other guild help out you guild members.

Are you a casual PvE guild? Hardcore PvP? Raiding?
We would all do a vote on what to do PvE or PvP or Raid. Depending on the votes is what we would do so i would say we are a mixture of all three.

How would one go about joining GaurdianAngles? Are you accepting applications? What are your recruiting criteria?
Well first of all, you would have to be on regularly and as far as lvls it doesn’t matter as long as you’re on regularly!

What do you see in GaurdianAngles’s future in Allods Online?
I see us as a successful guild doing a lot of Astral runs!

If you’re part of a guild and you would like to have your guild in the spotlight, please have your guild leader email us with information about your guild at allods_community@gala-net.com!

Hero of the Month – _Pascal!

Wednesday, June 01 2011 - 11:23 PM
by admin

_pascal has been chosen to be the May Hero of the Month!

_pascal was chosen based on his consistent helpfulness to the new players in the Getting Started section and his ability to point people in the right direction when they need guidance with confusing quests in the Quests section.

He is also an active contributor to the Psionicist forums in an effort to give the newer players to that class the knowledge to actually continue playing the archetype. He has also been known to pop into the Feedback and Bugs section and voice his opinion on how the game can be improved.

Congratulations _pascal, and thank you for all your hard work!

Character name: Eeke
Server: Tensess
Faction: League
Archetype: Psionicist

When did you start playing Allods Online and what motivated you to get more involved with the community here?

I started playing Allods a little over a year ago after switching from another mmo where I didn’t really enjoy the community, so this was one thing I was looking for from Allods.
It wasn’t until after I came back from a short break that I became properly active on the forums though, and even then it was only really in the psi section. Over time I’ve found myself posting everywhere :?

I love reading peoples’ ideas & viewpoints about the game, and the community feels comfortable enough for me to post my own. I’m a big fan of the GM events, and I’m always surprised by the quality of work people put out for them. For me it’s a great testament to the game that we have so many passionate and talented players.

What advice would you give players to help them maximize their experience with Allods Online?

I would always advise players (both new and old) to try as many things in the game as they can. Each class has unique mechanics, not to mention the diversity of builds available. Also, a lot of players miss out on the lower level zones of the opposite faction, but I’ve always found it interesting to see things from a different perspective.
A lot of characters will find themselves struggling against an “anti class” – I remember having trouble with paladins so I levelled a crusader alt to the early 30s to explore their weak points. They’re still a hard class to fight, but understanding their barriers & attacks is key to defeating them, as well as giving insight on how best to support them as tanks/dps in group content.

Also, things are generally a lot more fun when you have a regular group to play with, so I’d definitely say consider joining an appropriate guild if you haven’t already. Even if you’re just helping each other out with quests/instances you’ll probably find you get a lot more out of the game.

What is your favorite experience with Allods Online so far?

I really liked the old pvp around AT (way before emblems). Even as a low level it was sort of fun avoiding packs of level 40s.
More recently I’ve enjoyed astral & heroics, but I’d have to say my proudest moment was when we finally cleared GT as a guild. It was something we’d worked on for many months so it was a great feeling.

Clearing Blackjack’s Bid with Loveguardian back in the day.. discussing my early psi builds with Noggin (and later Monobots).. desperately trying to keep Ejac purified in a group duel with Lockness.. King helping me with dragon ring rep  lots of memories.

What made you decide to play your chosen Faction and Class?

I didn’t read too much about the factions when I started (I like to learn as I go) so my first characters were an imperial mage and a psi. I think the psi got to around level 20 before I decided to try out the other faction. I ended up preferring the league zones and I haven’t really left since.
My first proper character was a kanian healer called Kabril, but when I came back I was keen to try out the psi changes on my gibberling alt- who has since become my main.

Are there any players that you would like to shout out to who have helped make your time in Allods Online an awesome experience?

Main shout out has to go to my guild, WarSong. Some very talented players, but more importantly a great bunch of people. More often than not they’re the reason I log on. Tark <3
There are far too many to mention really, but I like to think I’ve gotten on alright with everyone- so if you know me then err, hi :)

Also, special mention to the GMs & scholars. The work you guys put in is incredible and goes a long way to making this community as strong as it is.

Hero of the Month – Empiregibberling!

Friday, May 06 2011 - 12:09 PM
by admin

Empiregibberling has been chosen to be the April Hero of the Month.

Empiregibberling was chosen because of his many significant contributions to the game. He has done a lot of notable work on the Psionicist class forum to make sure people know how the class works and the options they have playing as that class. He has also submitted a large amount of well-thought out suggestions to the Feedback to help improve the game.

His attention to detail is much appreciated. He has also been a member of the Allods community for over a year.

Congratulations Mindhack!

Character name: Mindhack
Server: Nezeb
Faction: Empire
Archetype: Occultist

When did you start playing Allods Online and what motivated you to get more involved with the community here?

I got invited to try out Allods by some American friends in the first week of open Beta, which is how I ended up on NA rather than EU; ironiclly none of them stuck around past level 15 but I’d made friends here and the setting was awesome enough that I decided to stick around. Afterall – post apocalyptic steampunk MMO’s with space-opera simulator attached aren’t exactly common; in fact I don’t think I can name any others.

I wasn’t that active in the community at first, but after the Gorluxor patch completely changed the psi class (Back then we didn’t have fountains of death) the psi population crashed hard, at worst there was probably no more than a handful of level 40+ psis left in the game. The psi forum had no up to date information and some players upset by the loss of their original class were turning away new psis with horror stories of how “awful” new psis were, so I began crunching numbers – realised that in fact the class had new potential – and started testing, theorycrafting, posting the results and doing my best to give some solid data with which to develop new builds from.

What advice would you give players to help them maximize their experience with Allods Online?

Sarnaut is a huge world with a lot on offer, you’ll never find everything by yourself and will end up overwhelmed if you don’t have people to turn to ask questions and get some direction, finding yourself a guild (if only a non-descript levelling one) will take you far in making friends and getting yourself centred and should be quite high up your list of things to do; and if you’re a psi, a whole community is only a telepathy message away.

What is your favorite experience with Allods Online so far?

Strangely, the experience that most sticks with me fondly is that of Asee-teph, which is odd seeing most people still have recurring nightmares about that place. Flying solo, ducking through undergrowth and steamy jungles, sensing high level enemies on premonition and evading them, picking off my targets or unsuspecting league only to vanish once more like a psychic ninja solid snake was exciting and tense and not something I’d felt in a mass multiplayer game since Diablo 2 Hardcore.

What made you decide to play your chosen Faction and Class?

I started out on the league – my friends had rolled league and so I went with them.

I’ve long been a HUGE fan of psi-style controller classes; Mesmer in Guild Wars, Mysticism/Illusion schools in Elder Scrolls, Jedi in KotOR, but most MMO’s tend to avoid them because players don’t like the loss of control associated with being mind-screwed or telekineticly tossed about, but Allods was offering to let me fill my favourite playstyle and then unleash it in an MMO setting, how could I pick anything else? – And unlike many people I actually like gibberlings so I had no issue with having to roll them, hence Twitch was born.

It was only later when I became more familiar with the lore I decided to reroll on the Empire, digging their design and setting more than the fairly standard fantasy league – and given a choice between basic human, or the transhumanist arisen it was a no brainer even if I often find myself looking longingly at the new *coughoverpoweredcough* Xadaganian racial.

Are there any players that you would like to shout out to who have helped make your time in Allods Online an awesome experience?

Wow, so many people and faces I’ve played with in the last year; But my guildies at Redemption are all awesome, especially the ever reliable Windrazor, our resident angel Ellynna, bipolar raid leader Vicelich and all the members of Team Suicide (Who are guaranteed to brighten up any instance) – as are my old guildies in Myth (Now Mercenaries), who’re often so misrepresented on both sides but in fact are genuinely good people.

Not to mention everyone on /telepathy/ – you know who you are ;)
