Monday, November 05 2012 - 11:11 AM
by piopico

Skirmishes are your ticket to rewards and intense action across diverse playing fields. With Goblinball and Summerhold added in Patch 3.0.5, that brings the total number of skirmishes up to 6 skirmishes! It’s time to put your skills to the test and skirmish for rewards!

From now until Monday November 26th, you must complete EACH skirmish for a chance to win bonus rewards beyond the rewards that skirmishes offer upon completion. It doesn’t matter how your performance is in each skirmish; you just need to complete them.

Rules:
• To confirm completion of each skirmish, you must take a screenshot of the results page that shows up at the end of each skirmish.
*Please know that Summerhold doesn’t have a results window so you’ll need to take a screenshot when the “Combat Has Ended” message appears.

• Reply to this forum event thread by November 26th with a post that includes each of the 6 skirmish screenshots. Just create one post as your official entry and edit in each screenshot as you complete each screenshot within your post.
• Include your character name and server when posting your screenshots.
• One character per account is allowed to enter this event. You must use the same character for each skirmish.
• Due to the level requirements of some skirmishes, this event is designed for Level 51 characters.

Prizes:
On November 27th, we will host a raffle of everyone who submits a screenshot of their character completing each skirmish and award raffle winners with 600 Premium Crystals!
*The more participants in this event, the more raffle winners we will choose.

In addition, one grand prize raffle winner will win their choice of the June Dreadnaught, Overlord’s Dreadnaught, or Overlord’s Aegis!

On your mark, get set, skirmish!

Patch 3.05 Preview: Summerhold

Sarang Panzer

Patch 3.05 is bringing a new kind of skirmish to the queue: Summerhold. Unlike the other skirmishes available to players, Summerhold is not a PvP objective and instead requires players to work together to take the enemy down as fast as possible in vehicle-based combat.

Map of Summerhold

Summerhold was an abandoned village that was being used by the Empire as a facility to test and manufacture new combat vehicles. They had success in the creation of the M4-U23, an enormous fortified construct capable of devastating attacks and near-impossible to breach defenses.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t far into their celebration that a goblin worker at the facility had fallen into the cockpit of the M4-U23 while polishing its plating. Stricken with the realization of the power in his hands he began his fight for a goblin revolution by opening fire on the scientists and engineers.

Now the Ex-Leader of the M4-U23 project, Sarang Panzer, is requesting assistance to take this rogue goblin down before he destroys the facility.

• Skirmish •

Summerhold consists of one team of 12 that must coordinate by using their vehicles to assist each other with taking down the M4-U23 within an hour.

There will be a short preparation period where players can join the game and take a look at the different vehicles at their disposal. Once the M4-U23 begins moving though, the fight begins! The M4-U23 will slowly make its way towards chests of supplies along the road. Your objective is to prevent the M4-U23 from destroying as many chests as possible – the more chests that are saved, the more medals you will receive.

• Vehicles •

Heavy

The IS-7 Heavy is based on the Overlord’s Dreadnaught model. Slow and steady, this tank can disable the targeting, firing, and mobility of the M4-U23.

59ST

The Type 59 ST is modeled after the new Titan and acts as a support tank. It’s primary goal is to protect the group by taking care of any additional machines the M4-U23 activates.

Arty

The T92 Arty is a powerful vehicle in the shape of a June Dreadnaught. While doing a large amount of damage, it must first take aim and have assistance from the Firefly before it can really help take down the M4-U23.

Firefly

The T50-2 Firefly holds the aerodynamic form of the aegis. It also has an engine with overheating issues. While the Firefly is quick, it cannot stop moving or it will overheat. It’s main goal is to lock onto the M4-U23 so that the T92 Arty can take aim.

Players will need to work together and utilize the strengths of all vehicles to stop the M4-U23′s destructive rampage.

• Enemies •

M4-U23

While the M4-U23 itself moves toward the chests it will be activating additional vehicles to try and stop anyone in its path.

GiWi

The GiWi Type E’s aren’t to be ignored. These machines will need to be taken down quickly. They’ll be marked on the map so be aware and don’t let them get the jump on you!

T704

T704 Stump’s are powerful combat units that you’ll want to keep your distance from if you’re piloting a more fragile vehicle.

• Prizes •

There are platinum, gold, silver, and bronze medals that will be sent to you in the mail for your participation the battle. These medals can be redeemed for prizes from Sarang Panzer herself, or from Holiday Committee Officials in Novograd and Nezebgrad.

Costume

Prizes include varying amounts of experience, some food and drink, vanity, and a couple of permanent /use items like the Mini M4-U23 and the M4-U23 Projection. These prizes are bound, so you’ll need to work hard if you want to show off your Summerhold rewards!

We hope you enjoyed this preview of Summerhold and look forward to enjoying this new skirmish. We’ll see you on October 30th when the servers come up with Patch 3.05!
