Lords of Destiny – A Closer Look at Tep’s Pyramid!

Friday, March 01 2013 - 9:30 AM
by piopico

Welcome to a new edition of the “A Closer Look…” guides! After having discovered the new territories for your class, it is time to test them on the field!

As you surely remember, the adventures in the Crystal Palace have brought us one step closer to the truth about Tep. But the horror unleashed will make Dead City appear like a fun fair for young Gibberlings!

You have learned that nothing is what it seems and that revealing the lies can be painful and risky. Nothing might prepare you for the horror you are about to witness, not even the Dead King. But it is your duty to face it and to prevent Sarnaut from drowning into the horror of Tep’s lies.

Today we will present to you what probably is the most awaited feature brought by Lords Of Destiny. You will need to unveil the true face of the idyllic world of Pearl Ring. You will have to defeat the illusion inside the Crystal Palace and be willing to jump into the worst nightmare every Sarnautian can think of, Tep’s foolishness.

We won’t tell you how to do it, you will have to discover it by yourself, and rest assured it won’t be an easy task!

First of all, you will have to make your way to the Pyramid, that is guarded by Tep’s loyal cultists and by mechanoids. When you reach the entrance, you will be welcomed by the fierce Pyramid Keepers, that are willing to do anything to protect their master, Tep. He promises his accolites eternal life, then he exploits their Sparks as a fee. But the neophytes agree, for they have been promised much more. Finally, the newbie is sent recruiting other wretched souls. If you enlist another fool into the cult, you get a sip of his life. If you violate the rules, you pay with your own. That’s how the system works. Some manage to accumulate a certain amount of other Sparks’ light to make up for their losses and maintain a semblance of human existence. Those who are unlucky roam the ruins of Tep’s kingdom with their Sparks faded. Those are the enemies you will have to face: you can understand why they won’t be willing to disappoint their master!

As many of you would remember, Tep was a necromancer who spent his existence studying the mystery of life and discovered that the basic component of every living substance is the Spark of Life, which leaves the body when death occurs. He researched a way to trap those Sparks, in order to achieve eternal life for himself. He built a Pyramid to trap all the sparks released by those who died, but the Zems discovered his dark secret and attacked him. They fought a violent battle to the last man, until they finally managed to free the captive sparks. The liberated Sparks rushed back to their old bodies, but they found them rotten. Those new mechanically improved beings rose from their graves and became a new Sarnautian race, the Arisens. But the Pyramid continued to capture the souls, and it managed to take also Tensess’ one.

But his Spark was powerful and it didn’t surrender to Tep’s will. The Great Mage summoned some spirits, the Servants of Tensess, to guide the sparks back towards the living: it was the biggest gift he could make to all Sarnautians that have been able to revive from then on.

Tep remains a dark shadow lurking over Sarnaut and it will be the duty of the mightiest fighters to fight against this dangerous threat. Once you reveal the true face of Irdrich, you will be able to discover Tep’s hideout: a pyramid-shaped Astral ship, from which he continues to trap and enslave the Sparks.

You will need a strong level 55 raid and a good strategy to make your way to the top! Call your best comrades and let’s get inside!

The first boss you will meet is the Key Keeper. Once you sneak inside the Pyramid, the Key Keeper will leave your party in the trusty hands of his helper, Bouncer, while he seals the entrance to the main hall.

After killing him, you will discover that Tep is hiding in the upper part of the Pyramid and that you will have to choose between two ways to reach him: will you try your luck, hmm… will you test your value in the Laboratory or in the Control Center? Choose your fate, but keep in mind that none of them will be easy!

If you think that Elven engineers are too focused on beauty to be good fighters, your belief will be refuted by the second boss of this raid, Nihil. She used to be known as Cecile de Ardeur before she turned into this mechanical monster. She used to be an ally of Armando de Douceur, before helping Tep creating the Pyramid. She was the creator of Ceasaria, the artificial intelligence controlling the Darkblood Citadel, many of you should remember it. If you don’t, it doesn’t matter, she remembers you: you have defeated her during a quest, she has been punished for this and she won’t forgive you! Now Tep has turned into her into an A.I. and connected her to the Pyramid control mechanism to make a perfect watchdog out of her.

If you decide to head for the Laboratory, you will find Sihal waiting for you. Don’t worry, he’s waiting for payback time too! This horrible monster will haunt your Sarnautian dreams: he’s half Arisen and half shadow, which makes him a lethal mix of science and magic! Defeating him will finally allow you to put an end to the illusion imprisoning Irdrich.

If you manage to beat one of them, you can now try to make your way to the top and reach Tep… Don’t think it going to be easy though!

The lift is over there, but don’t think it would be easy to reach the upper part of the Pyramid!

We won’t reveal more today… you have to discover it by yourselves! Your faction counts on you, all Sarnaut counts on you! We can’t wait for you to reach the top and share your screenshots and videos with all the community!

That’s all for today. We have decided to leave you with a teaser! It will be a hard mission for your raid, but with great danger comes great rewards and… amazing costumes to show off in your capital!

by piopico

The Mage holds a special place in the hearts of all Sarnautians, it was the Great Mages that saved our allods from destruction when the entire world exploded after all! Since then they have been the standard bearers of spell casting, magical knowledge and fancy wands! So why not hold a celebration to the wonders of these wishmasters? For that reason the Historians are calling on the mages of both the League and the Empire to put aside their spellbooks and take part in….Librarium!

From Friday, March 1st throughout Sunday, March 10th, Librarium will run for all the Mages of Sarnaut!

Every single Mage that comes through training has one important treasure that they guard above all else, their book of spells! All Mages will remember the spells that their teachers gave them, ones that were, and still are, too dangerous to unleash on the world! They sealed them in their spell books with charms and icons designed to hold these, often dangerous, tricks in place! Once a year they are allowed by the various centers of magic to open these spellbooks, this is called Librarium and has come to be known as the Mages’ special time of the year!

During this time the Holiday Committee keep in stock various items that will greatly interest the Mage. Magicians can be judged on two things, their skill and how good they look doing it, and these items are designed to make you seem like the coolest caster around!

Vial of Concentrated Magic: Volatile vial of magic that can cause a big explosion! Can be traded or auctioned.

Libra: A Mage’s most prizes possession, the spell book! Watch it come to life as you carry it on your back! Can be traded or auctioned.

Spellcaster’s Cap: Everyone’s favorite headpiece from their training in Mage school, the Spellcaster’s Cap comes complete with animated stars! Can be traded or auctioned.

Lords of Destiny – A Closer Look at The Astral Changes!

Wednesday, February 20 2013 - 9:58 AM
by piopico

Welcome to our latest edition of “A Closer Look At”, which will focus the spotlight on the Astral Map changes in Lords of Destiny! After you’ve discovered the new zones, a completely new race of Tekyans and the latest spells for your class, it will be time to unlock the path to the new Astral!

Let us travel with the New Astral Map in Lords of Destiny!

You know this place, a place where you feel like an intruder; like bacteria in the bloodstream. It’s a dangerous but mysterious place: there is only you and the omnipresent blue, red, burning white or demonic black. Here you will understand how little a creature you are, despite all your heroic deeds and great wins.

The Astral, a substance in motion, evolving over time, able to absorb anything that enters into its influence and behaving as if it were a dynamic, living organism. It is both destructive and creative matter, and its behaviour cannot be predicted based on any known matter found on Sarnaut.

Although everybody focuses on fights on the main lands, a true battle is taking place far away from capital borders.

The next cycle of changes in this impressive sphere are approaching. You must prepare yourself for its arrival, if you want to survive.

The parts of the Astral closest to both factions’ capitals will narrow down dramatically, consuming the second and third layers completely. Scientists will have to rewrite the text books, as astral space will then be divided into three basic layers: Near Astral, Unexplored Astral and Mysterious Astral.

Have a closer look at what they are:

Near Astral

The Astral layer closer to the big allods in relatively well ordered and structured.
It is the beginning of the astral. It is considered to be the safest, and entirely explored. It makes a perfect training ground for future captains and their crews and contains 12 sectors.

Unexplored Astral

This layer of astral is largely unexplored or entirely unknown.

It is a journey’s final destination for treasure hunters that seek rare weapons, armor, or accessories that they can equip their characters with, as well as suitable upgrades. It’s composed of 35 sectors, that can be individually unlocked by finding fragments of maps of different quality: Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary.

Mysterious Astral

Shows the current situation of guilds’ dominance in the astral sectors.

The most distant section of Astral. Its structure is unknown, but its size could suggest that it might contain twice the number of sectors as an Unexplored Astral.

The Mysterious Astral can be revealed by unlocking clusters of sectors, instead of singular areas. Initial groups can be discovered using maps of legendary quality found in the Unexplored Astral. Meaning that when unlocking Unexplored Astral islands, Mysterious Astral islands are unlocked also. Further sections will be revealed only to owners of fabled quality Mysterious Astral map fragments.

Together with new challenges, new helpers will come to assist you. Next to the Astral Gates in your capital’s Harbor Area you will find Masters. Astral explorers just like you.

They will assign you with new quests related to the exploration of Astral layers. One of them will award you with plenty of gold for some of the items you might loot in the Astral. Another Master will give you missions in which you could gain precious Grains of Realgar. The last of them holds a powerful secret you will soon discover.

As you might have learned by now, you will have to force your way through even deeper zones of the Astral. Much more risky and dangerous. Not even the most experienced explorers stand a chance when directly confronted with astral forces. Lords of Destiny introduces the VII, VIII and IX generation of Astral Ship equipment. These can be found only in the furthest sectors of the new astral.

That is all for our introduction to some of the changes in the upcoming expansion, but it is just the beginning, for there are more valuable items that can be found in the new astral, which we will present to you in next Lords of Destiny focus.

Don’t forget to keep an eye on our Official Website so that you never miss any of our announcements about Lords of Destiny!

They can be acquired in different parts of Sarnaut: get a reward for performing daily tasks or buy from Servants of the Light in the basement in Nezebgrad’s Yasker Tower and in the Church of the Light of Novograd, and also on your own allod.

It should be noted that the effectiveness of these skills will be affected by the type quality of the tears used. Below you will find a complete list of tears that may be used:

Blazing Tear of Dragon – Required for the use of certain class abilities. Can be obtained on your own allod.

Shining Tear of Dragon – Required for the use of certain class abilities. Can be obtained on your own allod.

Glowing Tear of Dragon – Required for the use of certain class abilities. Can be obtained on your own allod.

Pure Tear of Dragon – Required for the use of certain class abilities. Can be obtained as a reward for the daily quests of the Servants of the Light.

Lucid Tear of Dragon – Required for the use of certain class abilities. Can be purchased from the Servants of the Light provided you have appropriate reputation.

Turbid Tear of Dragon – Required for the use of certain class abilities. Can be purchased from the Servants of the Light.

There is also another matter that needs your full attention! Maximizing soldiers’ combat potential up to level 55 opens new possibility for further training with additional 4 rubies. Those can unlock even more abilities from your deadly arsenal.

We, veterans, are aware how complex building your perfect warrior can be and how little details may have an impact on a defeat or a victory on the battlefield.

We already took necessary countermeasures implementing a new system to your skills and rubies grid. You will notice some skills and rubies are marked with stars. Those are officially recommended for your class. You can still do things your own way, but unless you’re a veteran yourself, it is wise to follow the recommended path created by the best strategists of Sarnaut.

Now that incoming changes are no secret, you are ready to plan strategies for your future build and win wars staying ahead for your enemies! Don’t miss other useful guides in following days so nobody and nothing can take you by surprise.

Stand easy!

Dismissed!

Don’t forget to keep an eye on our Official Website to never miss our announcement about Lords of Destiny!

Lords of Destiny – A Closer Look at the New Zones!

Friday, February 08 2013 - 10:55 AM
by piopico

Ahoy Astral Captains!

Today we start a journey into the new content coming soon with the next update Allods Online: Lords of Destiny! Welcome to the first preview of many more previews to come leading up to the exciting update!

We would like to first introduce a new Sarnautian race, the Tequanis. It is now time to set sail towards their lands and to discover more about this ancient and mysterious people!

Your faction leader will send you there on a secret mission, but beware! Astral demons are always lurking in the darkness, waiting for ships to attack! You will be far away from home in the unknown Astral, but don’t worry, it doesn’t happen so often to leave a demon behind and to find a tropical paradise at the end of a wormhole!

Deep in the Astral, a forgotten archipelago awaits to be explored. Its name, Pearl Ring, has been lost for centuries and the way to reach it as just been retrieved. It is part of a bigger allod called Irdrih, which is as wide as Holy Land, Eljune and Coba Plateau put together.

Welcome to the Jungle!

Disembark your ship and, while you are still trying to put all the pieces together, you will start to explore a tropical jungle with stunning landscapes and many different types of wildlife. Be careful though: not all these cute animals will be friendly, many of them are fierce enemies!

One of the first inhabitants you will have the chance to meet are the Aviaks. At your arrival in the area, you will discover soon that this tropical paradise is shaken by a war between two different factions of Aviaks. When you find yourself alone, far away from home, one of the first things to do is find some allies: fly on the back of the colorful Squawkers to discover the islands while helping your new Aviaks friends!

Discover the amazing flora and fauna of this tropical map, take part in an arcane ritual, and challenge the natural elements to gain the respect of the Wind people!

The landscape of the Pearl Ring map is stunning. Dive into the clear waters to discover a colorful underwater environment with many mysteries to unravel.

Do you remember the days when you had been sent to the Holy Land with an important quest? Here you will find an element to bring back your memories. We’re not only talking about PvP, but about Sites of Power! Honor your faction in this remote corner of the Astral and conquer sites of power to unlock buffs for all the comrades of your faction!

Pearl Ring is a round reef that encircles an archipelago of xx small islands with a bigger one at its center. After having explored the smaller islands, it is now the time to venture into the main one.

If you delve deeper into the secrets of Irdrich and uncover plots of powerful forces, you might be lucky and find a way to the beautiful Tequatl!

Tequatl

Tekyans are an ancient race, mentioned in the June chronicles that survived the Great Cataclysm and lost for ages when Sarnaut was torn into pieces. But, as Historians always reminds us, sometimes lost things might be recovered!

Before the Great Cataclysm, the Tequanis, which are furry little creatures and distant relatives of the Gibberlings, used to be a savage people that inhabited the jungle in Irdrich. Due to the remoteness of their land, they had never met other rational beings before.

When Irdrich was colonized by the Junes around the 1800 year of the Old Era, those little creatures were impressed by the spells and the abilities of the new comers and soon gained their favors offering them generous gifts. Soon, both races began to live side by side and the colonists turned into patient teachers, trying to pass the Tequani their knowledge and culture. The little creatures lived without concerns and the Junes provided to their needs until the Curse destroyed their civilization and Sarnaut was shattered into pieces.

Before meeting their fate, the Junes made sure their furry friends survived, but the Tequani were left on their own and the world forgot about them until now. The Junes became gods in their minds and the Tequani had to put in practice what they had learned from their protectors and take care of themselves.

They eventually built their civilization and managed to establish their own traditions and school of magic. Today, the Tequani still live in harmony with nature and build their houses under the trees.

Do not be fooled by their fluffy appearance though! Although they are kind-hearted and friendly, some of them might be hostile while they protect their settlement. Keep that in mind while taking the path towards their village!

The beauty of their land will leave you speechless and ease your homesickness. Explore their village and talk to them and you’ll discover more abou their culture and their secrets. After the fall of June civilization, new gods has replaced the Ancient protectors. Who are those “Immortals”, as Tequanis call them, and what is hidden in their beautiful Crystal Palace?

The more you will discover about this stunning land, the closer you will get to a bitter revelation: how could such beauty and innocence have been spared by destruction? Maybe there is another side of Irdrich to discover, more to see, but it is not time to unveil it yet…

Make sure to check our Official Website for our next Lords of Destiny preview!
